You will be picked up at any hotel or address in Johannesburg, including OR Tambo Airport.
Drive past the old Diepkloof area, the massive taxi stand, and Baragwanath Hospital to arrive at the center of Soweto. Motsoaledi informal colony is the first place to visit in Soweto. Follow your guide as you go through the neighborhood via artisan shops and street cafés to a community center supported by MoAfrika. Meet and greet the settlers to gain further insight into their way of life. We proceed towards the center of Soweto via Orlando West. We make brief stops at Regina Mundi Church and Freedom Square (with the opportunity to enter) before heading to the Hector Pieterson Museum (closed on Mondays) for a guided tour.
As we go along Vilakazi Street, we pass by famous monuments, the residences of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nelson and Winnie Mandela, and others. You can choose to visit the Nelson Mandela Museum at your own expense if you have the time.
