Itinerary
We will leave Maun at dawn for the Mababe Depression, which will take us six to seven hours. The Mababe Depression is a large area reachable by crossing an ancient sand ridge, and it serves as a haven for wildlife during the dry season. During the rainy season, herds of zebras and other herbivores focus on the nutritious grasses while the seasonal pans still hold water. We'll get brunch on the way and stretch our legs. We will arrive at the campsite about 3 p.m. and rest. Once the temperature drops, we'll go for an afternoon game drive to get to know our surroundings. When we return, we'll have supper by the campfire, where we'll do activities and tell stories.
Then you'll retreat to your tent, which has a stretcher bed, a veranda, and an attached bathroom with a flushable toilet, shower, and hand basin. The safari is not participatory, and chores will be completed by the personnel.
Main destination: Mababe Concession (Okavango Delta).
We'll have a short breakfast before heading to Savuti. Savuti is well-known for its engaging channel. It travels approximately 100 kilometers from the Chobe River via a breach in the sand ridge to the Mababe Depression. Savuti is also known for its predators. Birding is a popular activity in this area, and you can observe species like kori bustards (the national bird) and secretary birds roaming throughout the large Savuti swamp.
We'll take a break for lunch and learn more about Savuti's landscape, which resembles a desert because of its loose, sweltering sands. The interplay between lion and elephant is, without a doubt, the most fascinating part of Savuti. The marsh is ideal cheetah habitat, and it is not uncommon to see wild dogs hunting in Savuti during the wet season.
Main destination: Savuti (Chobe National Park).
The Khwai Concession stretches along the Khwai River, which borders the northern section of Moremi. This section of the Okavango Delta is always highly active with animals. Elephants, giraffes, lions, jackals, buffalos, cheetahs, wildebeests, hyenas, and zebras are among the animals that inhabit these places. Khwai is a settlement located on the northern bank of the Khwai River in Botswana's North-West District. The river forms the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve, and the village is located just beyond the reserve's northern gate on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta. Khwai boasts all the Moremi does; after all, it is located in the majority of the reserve and has no fences that prevent wildlife from crossing. We'll spend the day touring this magnificent location.
You will then go to your tent, which features a stretcher bed, a veranda, and an attached bathroom with a flushable toilet, shower, and hand basin. The safari is not participatory, and chores will be completed by the personnel.
Main Destination: Khwai Concession (Okavango Delta).
We'll embark on a game drive to explore the area around the magnificent Khwai River. We will then go on a mokoro (dug-out canoe) tour along a tributary of the Khwai River. View the game from a different perspective and experience this serene way of transportation.
Then you'll retreat to your tent, which has a stretcher bed, a veranda, and an attached bathroom with a flushable toilet, shower, and hand basin. The safari is not participatory, and chores will be completed by the personnel.
Main Destination: Khwai Concession (Okavango Delta).
It's time to return from what will undoubtedly be a once-in-a-lifetime safari. An early morning drive to the Khwai River will be scheduled to see what happened over night as you meander along the breathtaking Khwai Riverfront. When you return, you will be served a delicious breakfast and given some time to relax and take it all in. You will be taken to the airstrip in the afternoon for your flight to Maun.
Main Destination: Maun (City).
