Overview

Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s best wildlife sites, offers safari opportunities. It is Africa’s oldest officially recognized reserve, located in Kwazulu-Natal. It has 96,000 hectares of wildness, rolling hills, and gorgeous animals, and is well recognized for having the world’s greatest population of white rhinos. After the safari, visit the Isomangoliso Wetlands in St Lucia. The itinerary includes private transportation.

Day 1 :

Durban to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi

After arriving at Durban's King Shaka Airport, you will be greeted and driven three hours north to the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve. You will spend two nights at Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge in a basic room. If you have two Adults and a child, you will stay in a bush villa (at an additional cost). Enjoy your first game drive in the afternoon (time permitting).

Day 2 :

(Day two-three) Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve

The Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park is the crown gem of the KwaZulu-Natal wildlife reserve system. It is Africa's oldest wildlife reserve, having been established in 1895. Initially two independent reserves, they were combined to form a single 94,000-hectare reserve that houses one-fifth of the world's black and white rhino population. The globally recognized Operation Rhino began here in the 1960s, successfully capturing and transferring white rhino to safe havens in South Africa and beyond. The Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park was the first reserve to provide walking safaris, and its wilderness pathways are world-renowned. Visitors may also expect to see the Big Five, wild canines, cheetahs, giraffes, various antelope species, and a diverse range of bird species.

Hluluwe to St Lucia

Following your final morning game drive and breakfast in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi, you will be picked up and driven to St Lucia, which is around 1.5 hours away. The Simangaliso Wetlands Park, South Africa's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounds St. Lucia. St Lucia is located on the famous St Lucia Estuary, one of Africa's biggest, which stretches for 85 kilometers and is home to numerous animals, unspoiled natural beauty, and a variety of exciting activities. Check in the Sandpiper Guesthouse and take a 2-hour hippo and crocodile boat trip along the St Lucia Estuary in iSimangaliso Wetlands Park.

Day 5 :

St Lucia to Durban

After breakfast, you will be transferred to King Shaka Airport
