It takes around an hour to get from Hoedspruit to Timbavati.
The Timbavati and Kruger National Park share an unfenced border and are both part of the 2 million-hectare Greater Kruger National Park. With the assistance of a local Shangaan tracker and an armed ranger, you will track the Big Five and other wildlife in open 4x4 game viewing vehicles throughout the day, evening, and into the night. With over 360 species of documented birds, including different eagles, vultures, kingfishers, woodpeckers, buzzards, herons, egrets, owls, and weavers, bird watching is truly amazing. The renowned "White Lions of Timbavati" are also housed at the Timbavati. The majority of resorts have armed guides on safari walks as part of their thrilling package for seeing wildlife.

Safaris are conducted by skilled rangers who work with indigenous Shangaan trackers.
