Overview

The four-day Katekani Tented Lodge Safari includes a four-hour sunset drive on the Balule Big 5 Reserve, a bush BBQ, a four-hour bush walk with an armed ranger, a three-hour game drive on the Balule Big 5 Reserve, a full day in Kruger on an open gameviewer, a one-hour morning walk, and scenic highlights of the Blyde River Canyon, including a stop at the Three Rondas.

Day 1 :

Transfer, Sunset Drive and Boma Braai

Pick up from your accommodation in Johannesburg or O.R. Tambo Airport and journey across the highveld grasslands to Tremisana Game Lodge in the Kruger Park. Board an open Landcruiser for a 4-hour Sunset Drive, your first chance to see Africa's animals and vegetation. Watch the stunning African sunset and, after dark, use a lamp to locate nocturnal creatures. Dinner in the Marula Tree Boma will be a bush barbecue. After supper, continue your night drive and spend the night in en suite air-conditioned cabins.

Main destination: Balule Nature Reserve (Greater Kruger).

Day 2 :

Bush Walk, Afternoon Game Drive and Motlala Game Reserve

We leave before daylight for a four-hour bush walk along the Olifants River. Your rangers will reveal many of the bush's mysteries. Even if your rangers are well-equipped, adrenaline spikes will be intense. Return to Tremisana for breakfast. Relax by the pool before heading out for an afternoon game drive after lunch. Transfer to Katekani in the late evening.

Day 3 :

Full Day Kruger Park

After breakfast, you take an open game viewer to Kruger National Park's Orpen gate. You will enjoy a full day of game viewing and bird watching in this world-famous game reserve. Return to Katekani Tented Lodge for supper and a night in your chalet.

Day 4 :

Bush Walk and Three Rondawels

You take a brief morning stroll with an armed ranger. After breakfast, take the Panorama Route to witness the beautiful splendours of Blyde River Canyon, stopping at the Three Rondawels. We arrive in Johannesburg late in the afternoon. Airport drop-off is available by arrangement.

Main destination: Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve (Panoramic Route).
Accommodation: There is no accommodation at the end of the excursion.
