Overview

Shepherds Tree Game Lodge offers a luxury Pilanesberg safari. It is unique and isolated, as it is located in a private section of the reserve. Safaris are led by highly certified and experienced rangers in open safari vehicles that accommodate ten people. Executive suites as well as a separate villa are offered. The game watching experience is amazing. Private transfers to the lodge are provided by our experienced guides. The Elephant Sanctuary, Cheetah Centre, Sun City, and Cradle of Humankind are among the sights situated en route to the lodge route that you may visit along the way.

Day 1 :

Johannesburg to Pilanesberg Scenic Route

We can pick you up anywhere in the Johannesburg or Pretoria area, including the airports. The route to Pilanesberg takes you through some of South Africa's most remarkable landscapes, from visual, historical, and economic viewpoints. We'll go across the world's second-oldest mountain range, past where humanity's earliest traces may be found, and via the world's richest platinum-producing region. Our destination is the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. It is located in the ruins of a 1,200 million-year-old volcano.

We can depart as early as 7:00 a.m., allowing you to see some of the interesting sights indicated in the introduction (entry fees may apply).

Arrive at Shepherd Tree Lodge for lunch and check-in; if time allows, enjoy a brief stroll around the protected gardens or take a quick plunge before gathering for afternoon tea. Around 3 p.m., go for your first safari drive. All of Africa's renowned wildlife may be found here, including the Big Five, which wander freely.

Day 2 :

Pilanesberg Safari and Return to Johannesburg Using Another Scenic Route

After spending the night in the pure, clean air of the African wilderness, you'll wake up refreshed and ready for your morning safari with fellow guests and skilled game rangers in search of interesting encounters.
Your ranger will stop for morning coffee at a safe alighting point, such as a waterhole where crocodiles, hippos, and other wildlife gather to drink.
The open safari vehicles utilized are very safe for viewing wildlife. Animals simply observe the car and are uninterested in the passengers inside.
Pilanesberg is located in the transition zone between South Africa's wetter and more dry areas; therefore, species from both zones may be found here. Springbok and brown hyena, for example, do not live in Kruger National Park. Similarly, sable and impala do not live in the dry Kalahari.
Return to the lodge for breakfast, and then check out. You may have a private safari drive followed by lunch at Bakubung Lodge before returning to Johannesburg or Pretoria.
