Itinerary
When you arrive in Malawi, you'll meet your local guide and take a private transfer to Mjin Kitchen, where you'll spend one night.
Mijn Kitchen is a family-owned bed and breakfast that's ideal for your first night in Malawi. After your flight, you'll unwind at this charming establishment while enjoying freshly prepared coffee and delicious cuisine.

You will have a leisurely morning, breakfast, and check out before your private transfer to Mkulumadzi Lodge in Majete Wildlife Reserve, which is approximately a two-hour drive. This lodge, located at the confluence of the Shire and Mkulumadzi rivers, is the most luxurious in all of Majete. With no age restrictions and a variety of family-friendly activities available, it's the ideal spot to make lasting family memories. You will spend two nights in a luxurious family chalet.
Other possible activities include shorter nature walks for children to identify droppings, seeds, and feathers, boating safaris, viewing hides, and cultural visits to local villages to learn about Malawian culture.

You will enjoy your morning activities and brunch before departing for your private scenic transfer to Liwonde. Enjoy this magnificent drive through the highlands, which will take approximately four hours and arrive in time for afternoon tea.
You will arrive in Liwonde at Kuthengo Camp and spend three nights in a safari-style deluxe family tent. With no barriers to the surrounding bush, nature walks freely through camp, and you'll frequently see elephants, zebras, and antelopes browsing nearby, so you don't have to travel far to feel like you're on safari.
In between events, the camp has plenty of children's facilities, including a children's play area and a shallow child-friendly pool with sun loungers. In the evening, you'll have a sundowner on the viewing deck while looking through the telescope for Liwonde's magnificent indigenous birds.

After your morning exercise and brunch, you'll take a boat across the river for a 1.5-hour private transfer to Cape Maclear. You'll be sitting on its own 750-meter-long, palm-lined beach on Lake Malawi's southern shore. You'll be staying at Makokola Retreat for the next four nights in a magnificent sunset villa with a private pool and patio overlooking Lake Malawi.
On land, you can play tennis, volleyball, racquetball, or golf on an 18-hole course. After that, you'll relax in the swimming pool and eat at the restaurant. With Italian owners, the fresh pizza and gelato here are fantastic. Whatever you do, after a day of action, you'll return to Makokola and relax with a massage or treatment in the on-site spa.

You'll have a leisurely morning and breakfast before your private transfer back to Lilongwe, which takes around 3.5 hours. En there, you'll stop in Dedza, Malawi's highest town, which is set in a stunning backdrop of woods and highlands, with Dedza Mountain towering behind it. You will have the opportunity to visit Dedza ceramics to admire and purchase the wonderfully decorated artisan traditional ceramics.
You will spend one night at the cozy motel Kumbali Country Lodge, located in a leafy neighborhood of Lilongwe. It's the ideal place for you to rest and recharge before your international journey home tomorrow, with its diverse decor, delicious food, and calm gardens.
