1-Day Gauteng Birding Tour (Reef)

The trip begins early in the morning with a pick up from the hotel, and then proceed for birdwatching in one of three places in Gauteng Province: north, the Reef, or south, then visit the picturesque Walters of Sisulu Botanic Gardens, where black eagles (Verreaux's Eagles) nest on the cliffs. From there, head to Delta Park, a big park where you can see water birds as well as bushveld/grassland species. Then on to Emmarentia, where additional water birds can be discovered, before continuing on to Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve to seek out more bushveld and grassland birds. David is a passionate birder, not an ornithologist, so set modest expectations! A packed lunch will be supplied, and the customer will be taken back to their hotel.
