Pick up: as we start our journey en route, we will have our first stop at Rooi-Els, where we can grab a coffee and watch the endangered Cape Rockjumper birds, the magnificent but elusive Ground Woodpeckers, and other endemic species such as Orange-breasted sunbirds.
We continue to Harold Porter Botanical Gardens, which is part of the South African National Biodiversity Institute. A one-hour guided trip through the gardens to learn more about Fynbos, local wildlife, and South African natural and cultural heritage. See how South Africa's indigenous people, the San and Khoi people, used plants for medicinal and other purposes. A chance to see more endemic birds, like the olive woodpecker, African hoopoe, and over 96 other species documented.
After the tour, guests can eat lunch at the magnificent garden restaurant at their own expense.
We will then proceed to Stony Point Nature Reserve to see the African Penguin Colony.
