Day to Day Detailed Itinerary
Your safari guide will pick you up by 7:30am from the hotel after your morning breakfast. After introductions and a short briefing about the upcoming safari, you embark on a journey to Uganda's largest and oldest conservation area, Murchison Falls National Park. The drive from Entebbe to the park is approximately 5-6 hours, offering an immersive introduction to Uganda's scenic landscapes.
On your way, you pass through the vibrant town of Masindi, where you can stretch your legs and enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant. The route offers picturesque views of rural Ugandan life, with rolling hills, lush plantations, and traditional homesteads dotting the landscape. After lunch, continue your journey to the park. As you approach Murchison Falls National Park, the terrain gradually changes, hinting at the rich biodiversity that lies within. Upon arrival, you will proceed with the visit to the top of the falls where you will witness the powerful waters of the Murchison falls dropping down form about 45m with forming a thunderous roar and misty foams. Proceed and check into your lodge, nestled within the park’s boundaries, providing a perfect blend of comfort and wilderness.

Your first full day in Murchison Falls National Park begins with an early breakfast. The cool morning air and the promise of wildlife sightings set an exciting tone for the day. By 6:30 AM, you embark on a morning game drive. The northern sector of the park, known for its high concentration of wildlife, is your destination. During the game drive, you traverse the savannah, woodlands, and riverine vegetation. The park is home to the Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos (though rhinos are mostly found in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary nearby). In addition to these iconic species, you might spot giraffes gracefully browsing the treetops, herds of antelope grazing, and warthogs scurrying through the grass. Your guide's expertise ensures you learn about the behavior and ecology of the animals you encounter.
After wildlife viewing, you return to your lodge for a late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, you will go a boat cruise on the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls. This 2–3-hour cruise provides a unique perspective on the park's wildlife and landscapes. As you glide along the river, you see hippos wallowing in the shallows, crocodiles basking on the banks, and an array of waterbirds, including kingfishers, bee-eaters, and the majestic African fish eagle. The climax of the boat trip is reaching the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River narrows from 50 meters to crash through a 7-meter gorge, creating one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world, the thunderous roar and the mist created by the falls are spectacular sight. In the evening return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Early Morning:
Rise early for a hearty breakfast and after, embark on another boat safari, this time exploring the Nile Delta. The delta is a tranquil area where the river splits into multiple channels, creating lush wetlands. This ecosystem is rich in birdlife, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. Keep an eye out for the rare shoebill stork, as well as other waterbirds such as herons, pelicans, and kingfishers.
The boat safari also offers opportunities to see more wildlife along the riverbanks. Elephants and buffaloes often come to the water to drink, while hippos and crocodiles are a constant presence. The serene environment and diverse wildlife make this boat trip a memorable experience. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you go on another exciting game drive for more game viewing. This time allows you to maximus your game watching experience. Be on the look out for game species that you have missed during the previous game drives. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Wake up for morning breakfast and thereafter, drive to Budongo forest headquarters for briefing about the does and the don’ts for chimpanzee trekking located on the southern edge of Murchison Falls National Park, for a chimpanzee trekking adventure.
Budongo Forest is one of Uganda's largest forest reserves and a prime location for chimpanzee trekking. The forest is home to over 600 chimpanzees, and your trek is guided by experienced rangers who help you track these fascinating primates. As you venture into the dense forest, the sounds of birds and rustling leaves add to the anticipation. Once you find a group of chimpanzees, you spend an hour observing their behavior, social interactions, and listening to their distinctive calls. This close encounter with our closest relatives is both educational and exhilarating. After the trek, you will proceed to the restaurant for lunch and thereafter, drive to Amuka lodge where you will check in for the rest of the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
Your last day begins with a leisurely breakfast at the lodge. Take in the sights and sounds of the park one last time, appreciating the natural beauty and tranquility that Murchison Falls National Park offers.
After breakfast, it's time to pack your bags and check out of the lodge. Your guide will transfer you back to Entebbe, with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route. The sanctuary is a key conservation project where you can see rhinos up close and learn about efforts to reintroduce them to Uganda's national parks. After embark on the Journey back to Kampala with enroute lunch. On arrival, the drive will drop you off at Entebbe Airport for your departure flight back home.
