Overview
Founded in 1966, Lake Nakuru National Park serves as a refuge for rare birds, such as flamingos. Being gated off and close to Nakuru township make it an easy place to navigate, which makes it a popular day trip destination. Over 400 different species of birds and over 50 different animal species can be seen in the park. Lake Nakuru National Park serves as a safe haven for white and black rhinos, who are easily seen on game drives within the park, and also helps reduce conflict between humans and wildlife.
