Overview

This popular tour includes a journey to Madikwe Game Reserve, which is located on the Botswana border in a transitional zone between the dry, arid Kalahari and the lush Lowveld. Madikwe is home to species and vegetation that have successfully adapted to both ecosystems. The reserve is located in a malaria-free area and is famous for its large population of unique wild dogs. Tau Animals Lodge overlooks a permanent waterhole that draws a variety of Animals and birds.

Day 1 :

Arrival and Afternoon Game Drive

Your driver will pick you up from your desired place in Johannesburg or Pretoria and transport you to Madikwe Game Reserve about 7:00 a.m. The drive to the game reserve takes around 4.5 hours, and we arrive at Tau Game Lodge late in the morning. Settle into your luxurious room, unwind, and refresh up before leaving for the late afternoon game drive. Game drives take place in an open safari vehicle with a certified ranger.

After a thrilling night drive, return to the lodge for a star-lit dinner in the outdoor boma or the lodge dining room.

Day 2 :

(Day two-four) Madikwe Game Reserve

Wake up early for warming drinks before embarking on a 3-hour game drive at sunrise. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then spend the rest of the day lounging on the hardwood porch or in your air-conditioned room. Prepare to leave after high tea for a late afternoon game drive and return for supper long after dark.
