Overview

Following an early morning arrival at OR Tambo Airport, you will begin this journey with a visit to the dynamic metropolis of Johannesburg and the historic township of Soweto in the afternoon of Day 1. You next go on a day safari to Kruger National Park, which has enormous landscapes and a diverse animal population. Enjoy the luxury of a bush lodge near Kruger Park as well as the distinct charm of some of Kruger Park’s rest camps, with meals made by your ranger.

Day 1 :

Arrival and Soweto Tour

When you arrive at O.R. Tambo, the hotel shuttle will pick you up; after checking into the guest house, you will meet your tour guide for your Soweto tour, which will include a visit to Mandela's former residence, among other things. You will return to your guest home and have a buffet-style meal before retiring for the night.

Main destination: Johannesburg (city).

Day 2 :

Panorama Route Highlights and arrival in Hoedspruit

After an early morning departure from the airport with an overland shuttle, you make your way to Ohrigstad, where you'll be met by your private guide. Enjoy the scenic sights of the iconic Panorama Route of the Northern Drakensberg Escarpment; with its canyon, viewpoints and waterfalls. You will reach your boutique bush lodge in the late afternoon and enjoy a scrumptious dinner prepared by your host.

Day 3 :

Kruger Park Safari

We pick you up from your accommodation in the morning with our open safari vehicle (OSV) and head to Orpen Gate, where we will begin our first game drive to see the Big and Little 5, as well as many other creatures. We have plenty of time to enjoy the entire calm of an African morning as we eat breakfast at one of the picnic places. Lunch is on your own responsibility at one of the stores or picnic areas.

After a full-day safari, we check into the rest camp, where you may relax in your Kruger standard bungalow before touring the site, which has a curio + convenience shop, pool, and restaurant. Your guide prepares dinner for you.

Day 4 :

Kruger Park Safari

Our guide makes breakfast for us at the camp, and we begin our second safari day after checking out. We will travel an alternate route back north for even better chances to see wildlife, and we will stop for a brief lunch at one of the picnic areas (own account).

To commemorate your African journey, our guide cooks you traditional African braai in the evening. You will sleep in a cozy cottage for the night.

Day 5 :

Return to Johannesburg via Panorama Route

We head out for our final morning game drive after purchasing a snack from the park shop (our expense). At 11 a.m., you return to Hoedspruit and board a shared van to return to OR Tambo Airport, where your tour concludes at approximately 18 o'clock.
