Overview
The Kruger National Park is home to all five of the Big Five game animals and has the highest number of big mammal species (147) of any African game reserve. With just 400 or so African wild dogs left in all of South Africa, Kruger protects packs of these critically endangered animals. There are 517 different kinds of birds at Kruger; 253 of these are resident birds, 117 are non-breeding migrants, and 147 are nomads.
