Overview

The Table Mountain Chain, which includes the Cape Peninsula, is world-renowned for its remarkable biodiversity. The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve extends over the rocky headland. It is a protected region with a variety of antelope, the uncommon Cape mountain zebra, and other unusual animal species. It is also a sanctuary for maritime birds, with 250 species documented within the reserve.
