While on the trip, you will have an opportunity to visit visit visit several galleries arranged close together from the hotel pickup along the Keyes Art Mile. These comprise five well-known galleries—Kim Sacks, the Goodman, Circa, Everard Read, and David Krut—all of which also provide a vast array of art books for sale. We head downtown from lunch at one of the outstanding restaurants in the region, where you can choose from a range of galleries or have David take you to the ones he feels would be most fascinating. At the other end of town, the Bag Factory, or Maboneng Precinct, features well-known worldwide artistic icon William Kentridge's studio "The Centre for the Less Good Idea". The Johannesburg Art Gallery (old masters and modern) is just north of the city core; next comes Constitution Hill, a former apartheid jail.
