Overview
Discover the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic crater and a key feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This crater, which spans 260 square kilometers and has a diameter of around 20 kilometers, was formed when a volcano collapsed around three million years ago, leaving a vast hole 610 meters deep. Over millennia, water streams created up ponds in their depths.
